i. Entrepreneur

An entrepreneur is an applicant who is an experienced businessman/woman and must:

  • show that they have business experience and are willing to start a new business or invest in an existing business in Canada
  • proof of access to net worth of $........... that was obtained legally
  • respect the conditions for entrepreneurs after they arrive in Canada.
  • must meet Medical, security and other requirements,
  • the individuals applying under this category are encouraged to visit Canada prior to the processing of their application.

ii. Investor

Federal Program:

(Please be note that The Federal Immigrant Investor Program ceased).

The Immigrant Investor Program seeks experienced business people to invest into Canada's economy and become permanent residents. Investors must:

  • have business experience,
  • obtain a minimum of 35 points,
  • meet medical and security requirements,

iii. Self Employed

A foreign national who has relevant experience and has the intention and ability to be self-employed and make significant contributions in Canada is eligible under this category. The self-employed person must have two years of experience in a period beginning five years before the date of application for immigration to Canada and ending on the day determination is made in respect of application. The following types of activities are considered under this category:

  1. Self employed in cultural activities or athletics;
  2. Participation at a world-class level in cultural activities or athletics; or
  3. Farm Management Experience;

 

iiii. Start-Up

Canada’s Start-up Visa Program targets immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build businesses in Canada that:

  • are innovative
  • can create jobs for Canadians
  • can compete on a global scale
